My sweet husband had the idea of B wearing his Nemo Halloween costume to Disneyland Paris. He wore a turtle neck underneath and was nice and warm all day long. We thought it was a good idea---double usage out of the Halloween costume, he stayed cozy warm and he looked cute. Well, let me tell you, we were off on just HOW cute he was going to be. He stole the show!!! EVERYONE commented on him! Our first stop was the new Crush (Finding Nemo) Roller Coaster Ride. B got us sent straight up to the front of the line! The worker saw him, grabbed another worker and the word spread. Pretty soon they were taking us past everyone else. And those people didn't seem to mind. Seriously!

This museum was wonderful. It was once a rairoad station and is now filled with Impressionist works of art. Very cool. We really enjoyed this museum. It was so filled with light.

B was enjoying loving on his mom and dad while he toured Versailles with the masses.

Thursday, March 12, 2009

B was SUPPOSED to nap during this part of the tour. Yeah, that didn't happen. He was still very good.

Getting the wiggles out before our tour of the King's Private Quarters begins.

Here we are outside of Versailles. It is HUGE. The buildings go on and on and on. We had to go through quite a bit of security (think airport) before you could go in.

Some of us had ourselves a little snack and a nap inside the Louvre. The artwork was amazing. I don't think I ever realized how BIG some of these paintings are. A lot of them were floor to ceiling size. We saw most of one wing in the three hours we were there this day.

Outside the Louvre...getting ready to join the que to get in.

Another beautiful church. It is difficult to comprehend HOW they created these HUGE pieces of art and history.

Wednesday, March 11, 2009

The Palais Royal Gardens were enjoyable, even though there wasn't too much green. B had a fun time NOT being in his stroller. ;)

Wednesday, March 11, 2009

They were reguilding the inside of this church. St-Eustache was pretty incredible even without the parts gilded.

If you are a lover of buckets of extra-crispy, you can come to Paris. ;) We did not stop here to eat.

Wednesday, March 11, 2009

This is the Modern Art Museum. We didn't go inside. The outside was "modern" enough for us. ;)

Wednesday, March 11, 2009

The doors were locked. We couldn't go inside. It's name in English is The Church of the White Coats.

They took these Picassos from the Louvre as well. We were taking pics left and right (no flash though...we were being good) when we were told "No photos!" We found out later we had missed the "No Pictures" sign when the curators offered us the elevator (because of the stroller) and we bypassed the stairs leading up to the exhibit beginnings. Oops.

This museum houses works of art transferred from the Louvre. While we were there we saw many art students (of varying ages) drawing different aspects of these works of art (a hand from a sculpture, the house in a painted scene...). This is definately the place to be if you are going to be an artist!

This is the house (the second floor) Victor Hugo and his wife Adele moved into October 1832 when Victor was 30 years old. They lived in this house for 16 years. There were all sorts of pictures of Victor and his family....two children, father....There was also a school fieldtrip taking place, so we didn't get to take too many pictures of the "Chinese Living Room" (which is where the children's lecture was taking place). Victor Hugo died in his bedroom in this house in 1885. One thing the museum operators had done was frame and hang a huge variety of Les Miserables posters throughout the stairwells.

Louis XIII laid the first stone of this church in 1627. It still houses the painting "Christ in the Garden of Olives" by Delacroix. It also has a 195 ft. dome which was the forerunner to those domes of the Invalides (Sunday's visit) and the Sarbonne.

We are walking by the Hotel de Sens. This mansion is one of three medieval private residences remaining in Paris. It was built between 1475 and 1507. It was originally owned by the archbishops of Sens and now houses the Forney art library.

Another glorious church here in Paris. I'm amazed there can be sooo many and all of them so incredible!
